Dr. Melanie Katin, L.Ac. practices East Asian Medicine, which includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion (warming certain areas of the body with infrared heat), and therapeutic exercise called Qi Gong. During an acupuncture treatment, Dr. Katin will employ all the methods of diagnosis, including pulse evaluation, abdominal palpation, and thorough health history intake. With each appointment, there will be a follow up of questioning before your treatment. Treatment may include, but is not limited to acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, or gua sha, depending on your individual health concerns. Pediatric acupuncture treatments may or may not include acupuncture, depending on the tolerance of the child.

Combining acupuncture with hypnosis will shift you into positive changes more quickly than either would alone. Microneedling, otherwise known as collagen induction therapy (CIT) is used for skin rejuvenation. It is beneficial for all skin types, and can allow for new collagen and elastin in the skin to form in the dermis, in order to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, reduce acne scarring and pore size, and lighten up sun damaged skin.
